A warm referral may include:
Calling our office together with the survivor.
Offering a private space for the survivor to make contact.
Providing reassurance about what to expect.
Coordinating communication with our advocates when appropriate and with the survivor's consent.
Small acts of support can significantly reduce barriers and increase the likelihood that a survivor will access services.

Our Commitment to Trauma Informed Care
Every Survivor Deserves to Be Heard, Believed, and Respected
At The Hiding Place, trauma-informed care is more than a philosophy—it is the foundation of everything we do.
We recognize that every survivor's experience is different, and healing is not a one-size-fits-all process. Our approach prioritizes safety, trust, empowerment, collaboration, and respect while honoring each survivor's unique story, strengths, and goals.
Our team is committed to creating environments where survivors feel physically, emotionally, and psychologically safe as they begin rebuilding their lives.
Our Commitment Includes
Treating every survivor with dignity and compassion.
Listening without judgment.
Respecting each survivor's choices and pace.
Empowering survivors to make informed decisions.
Protecting confidentiality to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Collaborating with community partners to provide coordinated care.
Recognizing the impact of trauma on behavior, relationships, and decision-making.
Focusing on strengths rather than deficits.
Walking alongside survivors—not directing their journey.
We believe healing happens through relationships built on trust, compassion, and hope.

The guide is designed to serve as a quick reference for recognizing abuse, responding to disclosures, and connecting survivors with support.
The Guide Includes
✔ Common warning signs of domestic violence
✔ Trauma-informed responses to a survivor's disclosure
✔ Best practices for making a warm referral
✔ 24/7 Hotline and Office # contact information
✔ QR Code linking directly to the Professional Referral Form
Why It Matters
A survivor is significantly more likely to seek help when they are met with compassion, believed without judgment, and personally connected to resources through a warm referral.
Our Professional Referral Guide equips professionals with practical tools that strengthen responses, reduce barriers to care, and improve collaboration between agencies serving survivors.
